I attendend the STCW Basic Safety week in March 2018, which consisted of Elementary First Aid, Personal Survival Techniques, Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities and Ship Security Awareness / Designated Duties. The instructors, who are very experienced mariners were able to share their vast knowledge in an efficient manner.
Examples were adeptly modeled and comprehensively demonstrated, using a range of advanced didactic techniques which enabled me to envisage situations, thus providing me with a clear insight into some of the hazards. For instance, I was presented with a variety of scenarios which encouraged me to have to think of ways to respond. I was taught how I should prepare in advance to avoid the onset of incidents, and how to effectively deal with such events if they occur.
In conclusion, I am very satisfied with what I learned. I also gained confidence and the experience was priceless. I would highly recommend the Seamanship Centre.

The Seamanship Centre is the way to go if you are looking for high quality training, the best training centre I've been to so far.

This was a great week! I revalidated four of the STCW Short courses Monday to Thursday
The lads and Ladies at the Seamanship Centre are great. It was lighthearted but the amount of information passed was massive.
Best Centre Ive been to yet, and I am at this awhile now !!

I also did Yachtmaster, HELM, Stability, Engine and Deck Crane courses here over the years and they were all top class, it has to be said.
